Our benchmarking and meetings with university corporate relations teams has uncovered a common challenge we are all facing. Lack of common vocabulary among colleagues who touch corporate partnerships. Three reasons this is a problem:
1. When members of a university talk differently to companies it screams dysfunction.
2. If you’re not aligned on a common vernacular like “strategic,” it challenges the ability to effectively resource allocate.
3. Common voice is preferred by corporate partners.
Convening engagement teams and using the same vernacular is something that over time will lead to better and more effective engagement with companies. A benefit of UNITE (and one of the reasons we named our company UNITE) is that we help university teams collaborate towards common goals. chris groff - what do you think?
